Item Description
14-3/8x22.5" thin artboard has pen and ink original art for first page "Whiz Comics" #126, published by Fawcett Publications, Oct. 1950. Top half of page is splash panel showing Captain Marvel rushing through open window as devil assembles model plane, witch knits and genie puts wood in the fire. Of the additional three panels, one is all text and last two panels show burglar coming home and emptying his loot bag. Top left corner and top has stat paste-over w/Captain Marvel intro and title. Captain Marvel Jr. only appears in splash panel. Top margin has "Fawcett Publication - Whiz Comics" inkstamp w/handwritten issue number. Bottom margin has some editorial notations. Corner tip wear w/scattered age spotting at bottom. Artboard is Fine overall, but art remains clean and Exc. Could be matted and framed for a nice display. Richard Calusdian Collection.
