Item Description
15-1/8x20" artboard has 13-7/8x16-7/8" sheet of vellum w/black and blue colored pencil original art for Sunday comics newspaper advertisement. 1950s. Nine panel comic strip features Hillbilly Billy character performing acrobatic tricks on tree branch. Last panel notes premium plastic figure was available free w/purchase of Kitty Clover Hickory (Potato) Chips and shows package of chips w/"Free Twirling Acrobat" package attached at top. All text is hand-lettered w/exception of "Created By Gold Premium Corporation" stamp at lower left. Sheet is evenly aged and VF/Exc. as protected by vellum overlay sheet. Unique. Art comes w/identical pair of 8.5x11" single-sided promotional flyers for Kitty Clover "Ozark Bar-B-Q Style" chips, showing packaging containing Hillbilly Billy premium. Some lt. handling wear but Exc. overall. Also comes w/small 5.5x8" single-sided store sign promoting the premium. NM. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
