Item Description
17x26" on thin cardboard w/"Triangle Poster Co. Of Pgh., PA" at bottom center. This boxing style poster advertises a concert at "Cathedral Auditorium" in "New Castle, PA" for "One Night Only Tue. Mar. 17." Poster features a full-length portrait of Baker w/her hit song "I Cried A Tear" listed above her name. The song was a #2 R&B hit in 1959 and had crossover success rising to #6 on the Billboard Pop chart. Tommy Edwards shares top billing w/songs "Please Mr. Sun" and "It's All In The Game" the latter of which was a chart topping hit holding the #1 spot on the Billboard R&B chart for six weeks in the fall of 1958. "The Skyliners" were a doo-wop group from Pittsburgh. Their single "Since I Don't Have You" got as high as #12 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1959. That song was a minor hit again over 30 years later in 1994 for Guns N' Roses in the UK. Additional acts include: "Pat Gray And The Royal Lancers"; "Lawrence Thomas"; "Rick Palmer" and "Lovely De De Kardel." Wear includes; corner bumps, light vertical fold, pin holes in corners and moderate age toning. VG. The first example of this rare Pennsylvania window card that we can recall encountering in five decades.
