Item Description
See introduction in #2219 for historical bkg. on this art. 13.75x20-3/8" thin artboard has India ink original art in two separate panels at left and right; each having an image area of 8x12". Left features "Smitty," based on the popular comic strip of the same name. Of the 11 scenes, Smitty is pictured in three of them, along w/Herby, Ma and Pa, Mr. Bailey and Little Moose. Right features "Captain Future," a science-fiction hero who first appeared in a pulp magazine of the same name in 1940, and later being adapted as an anime in 1978. Of the 11 scenes, Captain Future is pictured in eight of them. Artboards have tiny traces of aging but art remains clean and Exc. Comes w/vellum overlay w/colorful watercolor guide. Overlay shows wear w/tape repairs and just comes along. Unique. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
