Item Description
Vintage 11.5x19.5" over-sized panoramic photo shows the roster for the 1949 New York Yankees, who held off the Boston Red Sox to win the AL title (as noted by "New York Yankees - 1949 - American League Champions" note printed in photo below team image) and won the World Series beating the Brooklyn Dodgers in five games. Photo shows HOF members Yogi Berra, Joe DiMaggio, Johnny Mize, Phil Rizzuto and Manager Casey Stengel. Photo has "Liberty Flashlight Co." studio mark at lower left and bottom margin bears facsimile signatures of roster. These photos were only distributed to players and team officials and are scarce as such due to limited distribution. Two vertical creases at center, beside bat boy and at bottom center. Photo has pinholes at corners and scattered margin wear. Fine/VF overall.
