Item Description
Vintage 11-5/8x19.5" over-sized panoramic photo shows the roster for the 1949 Brooklyn Dodgers, who held off the St. Louis Cardinals to win the NL title by one game (as noted by "Brooklyn Dodgers - 1949 - National League Champions" note printed in photo below team image) and lost the World Series to the New York  Yankees in five games. Photo shows Jackie Robinson (who had joined the Dodgers just two years prior) at top left and also features fellow HOF members Roy Campanella, "Pee Wee" Reese, Duke Snider. Other key players shown include Don Newcombe and Gil Hodges. Photo has  "Liberty Flashlight Co." studio mark at lower right and bottom margin bears facsimile signatures of roster. These photos were only distributed to players and team officials and are scarce as such due to limited distribution. Two vertical creases at center, beside Manager Burt Shotton and below bat boy. Photo has staple holes and pinholes at corners and along margins w/moderate corner foxing at upper left. Fine/VF overall.
