Item Description
This pocket watch was the first timepiece to feature a comic character, and was manufactured exclusively for The Brown Shoe Co. c. 1910. This watch was issued in two different boxes; one w/Buster Brown Shoes ad/image and another w/classic image of winking Buster Brown w/Tige. This is 2.25x3x.75" deep box w/Buster and Tige portrait image that matches that seen on watch dial. Underside of box has printed directions. Box is evenly aged and has corner tip/edge wear but remains tight w/no corner splits. Fine overall. 2" dia. chrome case watch w/"Buster Brown Shoes" company name below Buster and Tige image. Watch has scattered lt. case wear and is running. VF w/much luster remaining. This box is the more desirable of the two produced and watch is rare as boxed.
