Item Description
Lot pertains to 1935 Sinclair Oil premium book - "Prehistoric Action Cut-Out Book" - and includes
15.75x18.75" sheet of onionskin paper w/mixed media prototype original art for sign showing book and boy wearing caveman mask and holding stone axe as girl plays w/dinosaurs. Handwritten pencil text at bottom left reads "Suggestion For Pop-Up Display For Stores." Sheet has all over glue staining as once applied to board, but art area still displays nicely. Vertical fold just right of center. Bottom margin has slight trim and sheet is VG/Fine overall. 13x16.25" vellum sheet w/mixed media original art for presentation shows "Sinclair Prehistoric Puppet Theater" w/caveman and Tyrannosaurus in cave opening. Sheet is taped to thin cardboard and has three vertical folds at center. Fine overall. Comes w/10x14.5" cardboard prototype cut-out book w/mixed media prototype original art on front cover showing cavemen. Interior pages have pencil outlines for the various pieces, including dinosaurs, cavemen, Mastodon, etc. Top margin has some scattered wear, but overall art remains VF. Last item is lot is three-piece cut-out Sinclair dinosaur figure that would assemble to 20" long. Pieces have been hand-cut and painted w/slots for assembly. Bright, clean and Exc. One of the most interesting original art lots from the Gold Archives we have offered and for a major company. Exceptional and unique lot.
