See previous items #1241-1242. This lot pertains to proposed Boris Badenov Halloween mask by Collegeville. 8.5x11" typed letter on I.R.V. Merchandising Corp. letterhead is dated April 24, 1975 and is addressed to Collegeville Flag and Mfg. Co. President Joel Francis. Letter from I.R.V. president addresses the decision to move forward w/Boris and Natasha Fatale costumes, offering material support. Letter has postscript that reads "The Next Character We Should Consider Is Tennessee Tuxedo." Folded as issued w/a couple small spots of paint at lower left. VF/Exc. Boris and Natasha costumes were ultimately not produced. Comes w/"I.R.V. Licensing News" sheet w/image of Rocky and Bullwinkle. 1.75" tear at top left. VG/Fine. 8.75x9" sheet of vellum w/trimmed margins and cut-out cardstock sheet attached to back w/staples to better display the mixed media original art for Boris mask. "Boris Badenov" name at top left in blue ink. Sheet has three small connected holes at top center and scattered handling wear/aging. Fine overall. 8.5x8.75" high relief thin Vacuform plastic Halloween mask that has been completely hand-painted. Some creasing to hat brim and small cracks at left/right side where hat meets head, but o/w VF. Truly one-of-a-kind lot for the Ward collector.
