Item Description
23x35" poster for the "United States Surfboard Championships," which took place at Huntington Beach, CA Sept. 18-19, 1970. Poster features stylized photo design by Earl Newman, whose art graced several Monterey Jazz Festival posters. Newman is also known for his theater posters and nature prints. Poster features surfer on day-glo red surfboard under a blazing sun of the same color set against metallic silver screentone accents. Newman's facsimile signature appears at upper left. Some corner tip/margin wear and lt. scattered dust soiling, but Fine/VF overall. Scarce.
