Item Description
Pair of third printing Family Dog concerts posters for 1966 concerts that took place at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA. that featured The Grateful Dead. Both feature art by Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley. FD-22 measures 14-1/8x20.5" is for Aug. 19-20 concerts that featured The Grateful Dead and Sopwith Camel. Art features image of Frankenstein at center. This was Mouse and Kelley's first poster/handbill design for The Grateful Dead and as such, the spelling error of "Greatful" is present on this poster. Minor corner bumps but o/w Exc. FD-33 measures 14.25x20.25" and is for Nov. 4-5 concerts that featured The Grateful Dead and Oxford Circle. Art features large Family Dog logo at center surrounded by stars and leaves. Upper left corner has some handling wear and is VF. Both Kelley and Mouse have signed their names in pencil at bottom of both, Mouse adding drawing of running mouse sketch after his name. Rick Synchef Collection.
