Item Description
Illustrated box contains 13.5" tall hard plastic robot. Ideal, 1950s. Box has scattered aging and wear at corners w/pair of .5" split to top inner flaps. Top has some inking at corner and grease pencil price. Box remains tight and VF overall. Instruction sheet is moderately aged and has some scattered staining. Fine. Robot has tool compartment on chest w/removable cover and contains three die-cast tools (wrench, hammer, screwdriver). Robot has battery holder and bulb which fits in head to light up eyes and antenna; light works. Robot talks intermittently when crank on back is turned, saying famous line "I Am Robert The Robot The Mechanical Man - Drive Me And Steer Me Whenever You Can." Controller and robot functions work perfectly. Arms can be placed in any position, arms move, hands grasp objects, walks forward/backwards, turns left to right. Scattered lt. aging to plastic but Exc. overall and about as nice as these come. Classic 1950s robot comes w/45 rpm Cricket Records "Toy Tunes" record from 1953 - "Robert The Robot Saves The Day." Sleeve features wonderful graphics of children playing w/robot, using him to lift tree off wrecked dollhouse. Front has price sticker. Sleeve shows scattered wear and is Fine. Record shows lt, wear and is VF.
