Item Description
11-3/8x13.25" stitched cloth trick or treat bag w/vinyl carry handles and silk-screened image of the General Mills "Twinkles" cereal mascot Twinkles the Magic Elephant (who debuted in 1960) on one side. Bottom corner has Collegeville Flag & Mfg. Co. thin cardboard tag attached w/handwritten "1961" date and "Twinkles Trick Or Treat Bag - Showroom Sample" notation. A higher end trick or treat bag sold in stores alongside Collegeville Halloween costumes. Bag shows lt. wear where folded over the years but is o/w Exc. These bags are rare, let alone a unique sample like this. In our November 2018 auction, we offered similar showroom sample bags for "Frosty O's" and "Trix," both of which sold for impressive prices - $2,791 and $1,729 respectively.
