Item Description
1940s. 18-1/8x25" thin cardboard sign features striking silk-screened graphics, showing Uncle Sam's hand holding a frying pan containing the heads of Tojo, Hitler and Mussolini over a raging fire. "Keep 'Em Frying!" text at top ties into wartime kitchen grease conservation w/"Make It Hot For The Axis!" text to right of frying pan. Further text at bottom reads "Kitchen Grease Contains 10% Glycerin - Glycerin Makes Nitro-Glycerin. Give To Local Charity Or Sell To Your Butcher." Sign was printed by Los Angeles County Defense Committee On Consumers' Interest as part of the Work Projects Administration of Southern California. 1940s. Evenly aged but o/w Exc. Rare and first we've seen in our 52 years.
