Item Description
Pair of two cardstock movie theater promotional items from the original releases of two films starring Wallace Beery. 11.25x16-3/8" sheet has cut-out sombrero hat used to promote Beery's starring role as Mexican revolutionary Pancho Villa in "Viva Villa!" Hat features image of Beery in character along w/film title and MGM name. Upper right of sheet has directions for use. Vertical fold w/color breaks and 1.5" corner sliver off upper right and some scattered margin wear including .75" tear at lower right. Fine overall. Die-cut 4x6-3/8" movie theater hanger for original release of 1941's "The Bad Man," which saw Beery return to a Pancho Villa-esque character, the resemblance pointed out in promo text that reads in part "M-G-M's Greatest Action Picture Since 'Viva Villa!'." Back has streak of glue staining, but this does not affect front's display, which remains Exc. Both are rare and the first we've offered in our 52 years. "The Bad Man" hanger is the actual example shown in "The Official Price Guide To Pop Culture Memorabilia" by Ted Hake and comes with COA.
