Item Description
"Adventures Of Detectives Black And Blue" was an early syndicated comedy crime show from Los Angeles radio station KHJ, airing from 1932 to 1934. The series followed the adventures of a pair of shipping clerks/amateur sleuths named Jim Black and Frank Blue in their bumbling attempts at criminology. The show was sponsored by Folger's Coffee and Iodent Toothpaste. Offered here is Sherlock Holmes deer stalker-style hat has silk-screened "Black & Blue No. 1 - No. 2 - Iodent Tooth Paste" text on front brim. Scattered wear to leatherette liner, but o/w Exc. Rare. Pair of 1-5/8" tall badges offered c. 1932 include one in bright luster w/raised text/design accented by black enamel paint listing Iodent Tooth Paste sponsor. Trace luster wear but still displays Exc. Other badge is in two shades of brass w/black accent paint listing Folger's Coffee sponsor. Scattered aging/wear. Fine overall. We know of only one other premium produced for this show, a bw premium photo.
