FBI agent Melvin Purvis had brought John Dillinger and Pretty Boy Floyd to justice before going on to host the "Junior G-Men" radio show in the mid-1930s, which was sponsored by Post Toasties. This lot offers total of 26 pieces related to Purvis and/or "Junior G-Men," all from 1936-1937. Lot includes all eight premium badges issued including six shield badges w/individual ranks and two different "Girls Division" pins; two different brass rings "Junior G-Man Corps" and "Law and Order" patrol; "Melvin Purvis Secret Operator" folding pocketknife and two mechanical pencil/pens, nine paper items include - "Chief Operative Commission" and "Secret Operators Captain" certificates, Melvin Purvis fan photo (w/envelope), "Secret Passport Roving Operative" card (w/mailing envelope), "Melvin Purvis Secret Operator's Manual" (w/mailing envelope), "Melvin Purvis Official Junior G-Men Fingerprint Set," "Confidential Manual Of Instruction" and two different premium offer illustrated folders. Lot also includes aged magazine page w/Purvis comic strip, premiums offers and ad for Post Toasties (w/Mickey Mouse). Scattered aging/wear, conditions vary from Fine to Exc. overall. An instant collection of the vast majority of premiums issued by Post.
