Item Description
22x28-1/8" thin cardboard poster for July 18, 1968 concert that took place at the Merriweather Post Pavilion (which had just opened a year prior) in Columbia, MD featuring Ted Nugent's The Amboy Dukes opening for Tiny Tim. Poster design was commissioned by promoter Durwood Settles and designed by D.W. Beeghly. Hand-pulled silk-screened poster is dominated by image of Tiny Tim holding his signature ukulele above large "God Bless Tiny Tim" text at center w/four corners each bearing same profile photo portrait of Tim, bottom corners having added tulips, a nice nod to Tiny Tim's iconic rendition of "Tiptoe Through The Tulips." Day-glo yellow text and accents is black light reactive. Rare and early concert poster for this venue. Poster has been inscribed, signed and dated in two areas. Tiny Tim has signed in blue felt tip pen below his large name at center, inscribing "Miss Irene - Be Happy Always - Tiny Tim" before writing "(A Mistake)" in black felt tip pen above "Be Happy" portion of inscription, w/hand-drawn arrow pointing down. Lower left has "Mr. David - Best Of Luck - Tiny Tim - March 15, 1989" inscription in black felt tip pen, w/hand-drawn arrow w/"Real" notation. Tim has dated poster once more at lower right. Poster has scattered age spotting along left/right margins and shows corner tip wear including some surface paper lifts at corners; only upper right corner having some or poster design missing. Pin holes at top center. Back has circle drawn in black felt tip pen (which does not show through onto front) and has surface paper lifts at corners and center as once displayed. VG overall, but inscriptions/signatures remain distinct. As personalized by Tiny Tim, this make for a truly unique signed item for this iconic artist. Comes with Hake's COA and Roger Epperson/REAL LOA.
