Item Description
Gold Smith "Official League Ball" Model No. 97 baseball w/red/black stitching has been boldly signed in black ink on panel by the Sultan of Swat himself, Babe Ruth, who was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame in the inaugural class of 1936. Ball has been inscribed in Ruth's hand "To Jack Jr. From Babe Ruth - Nov 27-1926." This was just over a month after the Yankees lost the 1926 World Series to the St. Louis Cardinals, the Series ending w/Ruth being caught stealing second in the bottom of the 9th inning in Game 7. Ball is evenly aged and has some scattered soiling, but inscription/signature remain distinct. Fine overall. One of the most coveted signatures among baseball fans. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
