Item Description
Extensive lot for 1949-1952 National Biscuit Co. premium promotion. 21x27" promotional poster pictures 12 different "Injun-Uities" Nabisco Shredded Wheat cards (from 36 available in Series 1) that were offered as box inserts. Wonderful designs by Fred Meagher showing Straight Arrow working on various detailed projects. Folded into eighths as issued, poster is evenly aged and has some lt. scattered handling wear. Tiny splits at fold crease intersections. VF overall. Rare. Complete sets of 4x7.5" cards include Set #1 - 1949; Set #2 - 1950; Set #3 - 1951; Set 4 - 1952. Each set has 36 cards, for total of 144 comprising full set. ACC# F275a-d. Card No. 19 "Poisonous Snake Recognition" was later withdrawn, replaced w/"Announcement" card advertising new series. All have some lt. aging and handling wear. Most are VF to Exc. 4x7" manual w/72 pages is titled "Straight Arrow's 72 Injun-Uities Complete Series 1 and 2 Secrets of Indian Lore and Know-How." Extensively illustrated manual covers such things as Native American tools, proper camp, bow making, poisonous snakes, signals, tracking game, etc. Compiles both Series 1 and 2 box inserts into book format. Inside front cover has name for owner information, which remains unused. Covers have even moderate aging w/strip of darker aging at margin and some scattered corner tip wear. Cover is Fine, contents are clean and Exc. overall. An instant collection and a rare opportunity to acquire these all at once.
