Item Description
Complete set of 25. Each is 2.75x4-3/8". Issued in 1896, ©R.F. Outcault and marked "By Permission N.Y. Journal." Bottom margin of each card reads "One Of A Series Of 25 Cards Given Away With Each Piece Of Adams' Yellow Kid Chewing Gum." ACC# E231. These were issued in two different styles. This is variety w/art in bw/red/yellow, backs are blank and each has a small number at top left. The other variety has art in full color, "The Game Of Yellow Kid" text backs and each has large number at top left. Both are equally rare. Choice art w/The Yellow Kid prominently featured on every card. Just the slightest trace of aging and tiny corner tip wear. An exceptionally bright and clean set. NM to Mint. A rare and desirable non-sports set in high grade, as nice as these can be found. Our last set in similar condition sold back in 2006 for $3,010.
