Item Description
1.25" with flat tin covered reverse which has vertical stickpin anchored at top. Beneath his name in bold dark letters, "Dan Patch" poses for the camera with (we believe) his driver Harry Hersey ( 1904-1909) on the sulky seat holding the reins and a whip. Cello surface has some vertical hairline scratches, mostly lower left,  but these are not deep and not even very noticeable in related light. Until a few weeks ago, we had no idea that a real photo button existed for this equine coast to coast celebrity. See next related lot. VF. Rare.
