Item Description
1-5/8x2-3/8" Cuban card from set distributed in packs of Diaz cigarettes. The cards in this set feature players from the 1923-1924 Cuban Professional League. 85 cards are in the set, the largest and one of the scarcest of all 1920s Cuban card issues. Printed in dark brown with photo on front along with team and player name and position "E. Brown - Outfielder Marianao B.B.C."

Eddie Brown played over parts of seven seasons in the major leagues with the New York Giants, Brooklyn Robins, and Boston Braves. He hit .303 lifetime and led the National League in hits at 201 while playing for Boston in 1926. He played for one season in the Cuban Leagues and split time between Almendares and Marianao. Card back includes number and description of the series with offer for an album. Designated by SGC as being from the "Richard Merkin Collection" and comes with Hake's COA.
