Item Description
8x10" original glossy photo picturing retired MLB pitching star "Bullet" Joe Bush posing on a ballfield wearing his newly appointed Allentown Dukes Class A Eastern League uniform, where he would manage that ball club for both the 1930 and 1931 baseball seasons. Bush starred for a number of MLB teams during his MLB career with his best seasons coming during his three year stint with the New York Yankees. Bullet Joe finished with a career record of 196-184 with an ERA of 3.51 and 35 shutouts. During Bush's first managerial season, 1930, the Dukes would go on to win the Eastern League title with a record of 95-75. Back of photo indicates a date stamp of April 9, 1930 along with a paper caption detailing Bush's new managerial role for Allentown. Remnants of a second paper caption appear on back as well. A few light surface wrinkles are visible but do not detract from the overall appearance of the photo. Fine/VF. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
