Item Description
8-7/8x11-5/8" Cuban sports magazine dated February, 1950. This monthly publication highlights various different types of sports along with heroic individuals and championship teams. Well known for the numerous pictures that are included with every issue, Fotos provided some of the best Negro League ballplayer images and news stories of the era. This particular magazine presents an extensive article and photo display of Pedro Formental, former Negro League great, along with a number of images of Almendares ballplayers. Team and individual leaders and standings appear on the last page of the magazine along with some action photos to accompany them. Cover photo of Almendares ballplayer is identified as Yiqui Desouza. Magazine exhibits general overall wear, with the greatest handling appearing on the front cover with a 1.25" piece missing from the lower right-hand corner. VG. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
