Item Description
1.5x2.25" Cuban card produced for the Aguilitas Cigarette brand and a follow-up to the 1924-1925 series. The baseball cards are a subset featuring 37 players from the Cuban Professional League. This extensive 900 card set also featured movie and stage stars, boxers, soccer players and other subjects.
One of only 6 in the SGC census.
Mirabel was a formidable pitcher for 14 seasons in the Negro Leagues, primarily with the Cuban Stars East from 1921-34 and the Birmingham Black Barons between 1920-1934. Juanelo also played a number of winter ball seasons in Cuba, often as the ace of Dolph Luque's Havana team. Designated by SGC as being from the "Richard Merkin Collection" and comes with Hake's COA.
