Item Description
3.5x5.5" vintage matte postcard depicting an unidentified baseball team comprised of 12 ballplayers in full uniform along w/gentleman in formal attire. Although we have not been able to positively identify any of the ballplayers, the vehicle pictured appears to be from the 1910 era, matching the AZO stamp box dating on back as being 1904-18. Image appears to be very similar to other known postseason championship baseball team photos of that era, including the 1910s Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Athletics, so it appears likely that this ball club enjoyed a successful season and is celebrating here. Wonderful image quality. Back of divided postcard remains blank and unused w/lt. foxing. Minor scattered age spotting on front. VF overall. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
