Item Description
1.75" with W&H back paper in use 1900-1910. Shows hand operated, with text "Pat. Oct. 25, 1892", device titled "The Defiance Button Machine". Gives manager's name, NYC address and ad copy "A Child Can Operate It/Makes Buttons Out Of Any Kind Of Cloth". Similar looking machines, beginning in 1896, could assemble celluloid covered pin-back buttons. NM displaying Mint. First we've seen.
