Item Description
First example Hake's has offered, 13/16", no maker, but with union bug back stamp. In addition to "Copyright 1908" the date "1908" also appears left and right of the cub, pictured riding and holding the reins of a running pig. This 1908 Chicago Cubs ball club won their third consecutive National League championship, finishing with a record of 99-55 under National Baseball Hall of Fame player/manager Frank Chance. Chicago would go on to defeat the Detroit Tigers in five games to take the World Series once again. These 1908 Cubs were led by four National Baseball Hall of Famers: Frank Chance (MGR/1B), Mordecai "Three Fingers" Brown (SP), Joe Tinker (3B) and Johnny Evers (2B).   Trace of darker tone near edge at 2:30.
