Item Description
8.5x9" thin cardboard box w/perforated display lid contains set by Parks Plastic Company, ©1956 NCP, Inc. Box features image of Superman flying beside Krypton Rocket. Lid's perforations have been punched and lid has neat glue repair to .5" tear at center right. .75" glue repair at bottom right along flap fold. Box has lt. shellac-like reinforcement coating added to underside of lid. Box is evenly aged and displays Fine. Box is complete w/die-cut insert holding three hard plastic pieces, each about 5" long. These include - reserve fuel tank, pump unit and rocket. Tail fins of red rocket (see blue rocket color variety, item #1571) have relief "S" emblem and "Superman" comic book title/logo plus "Krypton Rocket" name. Toy uses water as fuel and "Operates On A Real Jet Propulsion Principle." Underside has illustrated instructions and offer for extra rockets. Insert and contents are unused, though rocket has some aging and wear to nose and edge of one fin and is Fine. Pump unit has some aging and is VF. Reserve fuel tank is NM. Dan Makara Collection.
