Item Description
1.25" without maker name. Spring pin hold ribbons joined to "Made In Japan" tin ball. The type font and shape of the letter "G" differentiates this from similar design Giants buttons issued in 1954. The 1936-37 New York Giants teams won National League pennants in back-to-back seasons under National Baseball Hall of Fame player/manager Bill Terry. The offense was further supplanted by a pair of Hall of Famers, Mel Ott (OF) and Travis Jackson (3B). The Giants would go on to lose both the 1936 and 1937 World Series, first to the New York Yankees in six games and finally to the same Yankees in five games. NM. Paul Muchinsky Collection Book Example.
