Item Description
Rare 2" with brass luster metal back and bar pin, copyrighted by E.S. See previous button for the Yankees. The 1941 Brooklyn Dodgers won the National League pennant with a record of 100-54 under National Baseball Hall of Fame player/manager Leo Durocher. The offense was led by a quartet of future baseball Hall of Famers: Paul Waner (OF), Joe Medwick (OF), Pee Wee Reese (SS) and Billy Herman (2B). Brooklyn would fall to the American League champion, New York Yankees in five games during the '41 World Series. Scattered all over loss of brass flashing on reverse. The celluloid has a 1" scratch that begins under "The" and gets deeper and more noticeable as it crosses the letters "GER" of "Dodgers". There is also a slightly indented line in the celluloid over the letter "I" of "Win". The button still has nice gloss. Fine. Paul Muchinsky Collection Book Example.
