The 1945 Chicago Cubs finished in first place in the National League with a regular season record of 98-56 under manager Charlie Grimm. The club was led by the offensive prowess of first baseman, Phil Cavaretta and third baseman, Stan Hack while the pitching staff was led by 22 game winner Hank Wyse.
