Item Description
Scarce, 3.5", no maker, with union bug back stamp and bar pin. The 1950 Philadelphia Phillies, a/k/a the "Whiz Kids" won the National League pennant with a record of 91-63 under manager Eddie Sawyer. The offense was led by future National Baseball Hall of Famer Richie Ashburn, while the pitching staff was led by fellow Cooperstown selectee Robin Roberts. The Phillies would fall to the mighty New York Yankees in four straight games during the 1950 World Series. Very slight wear in reflected light. VF. See next rare b/w version of this button.
