Item Description
2-3/16" no maker. Metal back holds 4.5" long purple ribbon with faint gold text "AMER. LEAGUE CHAMPS '54". National Baseball Hall of Fame pitcher Early Wynn led the American League in 1954 with 23 wins, 36 starts and 270 innings pitched for the pennant winning Indians. Wynn would finish his career with a record of 300-244, an ERA of 3.54 and 2,334 strikeouts. Early was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1972. Metal back has some thin surface oxidation top and bottom. Celluloid shows gray stains with very faint pale pink tone lower right caused by the purple ribbon becoming wet at some point. Some small surface bumps and a few scratches will catch reflected light. Glossy. VG. Paul Muchinsky Collection Book Example.
