Item Description
Rare 3.5", no maker. The 1962 New York Yankees won the American League pennant with a record of 96-66 under manager Ralph Houk. Following up on the home run record season of 1961 when Roger Maris hit 61 homers to break Babe Ruth's single season record and Micket Mantle hit 54 of his own, the same core of ballplayers excelled once again in '62, led by not only Maris and Mantle but also National Baseball Hall of Famers Whitey Ford on the mound and Yogi Berra behind the plate. New York would go on to defeat the San Francisco Giants in seven tough ball games to win the 1962 World Series. Tiny surface wear traces in reflected light. High gloss and Exc. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
