Item Description
See #708 for details. Rare. To the best of our knowledge, this button has never been offered individually at public auction. Charlie Deal, one of the more obscure players in this button series, was briefly a teammate of Ty Cobb's, beginning his career with the Detroit Tigers in 1912-13 as their part-time third baseman before moving on to stints with the Boston Braves, St. Louis Browns and, finally, the Chicago Cubs before retiring after the 1921 season. Artwork of the player has a .75" vertical scratch but extremely light and it shows just slightly in reflected light. Exc. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
