Item Description
1-7/8" tall with tiny text "Flex-Let Quality" and has same basic design as the Balfour press pin. Inscription reads "World Series/Yankees 1953/Press". Reverse has die-cut figural dollar sign with much engraving on the "S". The front has a figural "V" for Victory in their sixteenth World Series appearance. The 1953 New York Yankees won the American League pennant with a record of 99-52 under National Baseball Hall of Fame manager, Casey Stengel. The offense was led by Hall of Famers Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, Johnny Mize and Phil Rizzuto. The mound corps was led by HOF hurler, Whitey Ford. The Yankees would go on to defeat the Brooklyn Dodgers in six games to take the 1953 World Series. Much rarer than the matching press pin. NM. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
