Item Description
1.75" no maker with ribbon and chain holding medal  1-3/8" on each side and front has facsimile signature and image of him pitching while back reads "Good Luck/Live Clean/Study Hard/Work With A Will/To Set Your Mark". Tiny text names maker "Ralpat Co. Cleveland, O. U.S.A." Medal has tiny 1/16" indent by his leg. Ewell Blackwell began his Major League career with the Cincinnati Reds in 1946 and was a 22 game winner the following season. After five more seasons with the Reds, Blackwell moved on to the New York Yankees in 1952-53. Blackwell finished second in the American League MVP voting in 1947 and was a six time all-star.  A light .5" scratch crosses part of his head but just seen in reflected light. Very glossy. VF.
