Item Description
1.75" no maker, rookie-era button with union bug back stamp. Spring pin holds ribbon with plastic bat and ball. Ted Williams began his Major League Baseball career with the Boston Red Sox in 1939, where he immediately displayed the prowess to become one of the best hitters in baseball, finishing in fourth place in the American League MVP voting his freshman season. "Teddy Ballgame" would go on to spend his entire 19 year career with the BoSox, famously becoming the last man to bat over .400, when he finished at .406 in 1941. Williams would go on to win two American League MVP awards and finish in second place in the voting on four other occasions. Williams' final career numbers were astonishing, a .344 batting average along with 521 home runs, 1,839 RBI's, 1,798 runs scored and an all-time record .482 career on-base percentage. Ted would be elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1966. Very minimal surface wear. Glossy. Exc. Paul Muchinsky Collection Book Example.
