Item Description
Original box w/illustrated lid contains classic 13" tall, mostly tin robot designed after Robby The Robot from the classic Sci-Fi film "Forbidden Planet." Made in Japan by Nomura, c. 1957. Box is evenly aged and shows obvious wear along edges and at corners w/1.5" corner split and.75x1.25" piece missing at one corner. Box is VG. Toy works and walks forward as pistons and lights operate inside the clear plastic dome. Arms are manually adjustable from side to side and original rubber hands remain pliable, though one has broken off (included and will still display in place). Early version w/knob style pulls on D battery box doors. Battery boxes remain clean. Plastic dome remains clear and free of cracks. Body has scattered trace of wear but remains exceptionally bright and glossy. Appearance remains VF/Exc. A truly classic robot toy.
