Item Description
3.5x5-3/8" vintage glossy postcard depicting Chicago Warrens ballplayer, Raymond Papineau in full uniform and swinging a bat amid quotations from adoring fans. Image credit to "A. Stiff" as noted on the front of the postcard. It appears that Papineau was quite the ladies' man, very attractive and muscular, a local favorite for sure. Divided back was postally cancelled during 1909, the specific date is not discernable. Lower left-hand corner contains a .75" crease with foxing around the edges on the back. Fine. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
