Item Description
3-3/8x5.5" vintage matte postcard depicting nine ballplayers in full uniform including eight female players and one male along with a gentleman, likely the manager, dressed in formal attire posed inside a photography studio with baseball equipment on floor in foreground. Front text reads "The Western Bloomer Girls - Ladies Champion Base Ball Club". The Western Bloomer Girls Club was founded in 1911 by Maud Nelson, one of the most successful female players who eventually became a team owner. Postcard exhibits scattered lt. staining around the border along with lt. corner wear. Divided postcard back remains blank and unused. Fine. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
