Item Description
3-3/8x5-3/8" vintage silver gelatin matte photo depicting 14 ballplayers in full uniform along with a young boy and four gentlemen dressed in formal attire posed in front of stadium seating. Photo credit on front indicates "White". Printed notation at bottom of photo reads "Allegheny Steel Baseball Club, Champions Allegheny Valley 1917, Winners Murdoch Trophy". Apparently, this local town ball team took on all comers and were the champions of the Allegheny, PA region. Image quality of the photo is superb and there are no significant condition issues to note. Divided back of the postcard has been postally cancelled, with a date of Oct. 29, 1917. VF. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
