Item Description
3-3/8x5-3/8" vintage matte postcard depicting 11 team members posed on the front lawn of a residential home. Caption at bottom of the photo reads "Marysville Base Ball Team, 1917". All players are identified by last name along with their position on the field. This 1917 Marysville baseball club was not a professional team but rather a semi-pro barnstorming club that would take on all comers in the Midwest-Kansas area as was a common practice during the era. Postcard exhibits a couple of diagonal creases across the center along with lt., even corner wear and a couple of lt. marks inside the bottom text box. Divided back has been postally used with a cancellation date of June 13, 1917. VG. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
