Item Description
3.5x5-3/8" vintage matte postcard depicting 19 gentlemen, some dressed in full uniform and some in formal attire, along with one child posed on a ballfield in front of stadium seating. Photographer's credit in ower right-hand corner reads "Foto El Tigre - Vera Cruz". Photographer's stamp on back reads "Gutierrez HNDS-Ind-51-Vera Cruz". Although there is a famous professional Vera Cruz ball club from this era where the great HOF'er Martin Dihigo played, this group appears to be an amateur/semi-pro team. We have been unable to identify any individuals here but would make a very interesting research project. Postcard exhibits significant paper wear along with foxing throughout,  .25" spot of scrapbook residue along the left edge and a 1.5" corner clipped off from the lower-right. Postcard back indicates Kodak Mexicana, Ltd. With postal markings in Spanish. Divided back remains blank and unused. Good. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
