Item Description
3.5x5.5" vintage matte postcard depicting former Negro League and MLB great, Minnie Minoso during his stint with the American League's Chicago White Sox during the 1950s. Minoso was one of the earliest Negro League stars to cross over into the Major Leagues, debuting briefly with the Cleveland Indians in 1949 and followed by an illustrious career with the Chicago White Sox beginning with the 1951 season. Due to his early years with the New York Cubans of the Negro League, his MLB career wasn't as long as many other stars of the era but Minnie still finished with a career batting average of .298 along with 186 home runs, 1,023 RBI's and 205 stolen bases. Postcard has a Kodak stamp box on back along with a 1" crease in the lower left-hand corner and lt., even corner wear. Fine. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
