Item Description
7x9" vintage matte photo depicting 19 team members in full uniform along with a coach and batboy posed in front of stadium seating. All team members are identified below the image based on their location in the photo. The 1934 Montreal Royals competed in the Class AA International League, finishing in 6th place with a record of 73-77 under manager, Shag Shaughnessy. The 1934 Royals had an astounding total of 28 ballplayers go on to play Major League baseball with the most notable being: Slick Castleman, Butch Henline, Dutch Henry, Chad Kimsey, Frank O'Rourke, Jimmy Ripple, Bennie Tate and Fresco Thompson.
