Item Description
8x10" vintage glossy silver gelatin photo depicting long-time Cincinnati Reds star, Heinie Groh. Groh played in Cincinnati from 1913-21 before moving on to the New York Giants for five more seasons from 1922-26. Groh would finish with a career batting average of .292 along with 918 runs scored and 180 stolen bases. Bold and striking image of Groh, possibly taken inside a photographer's studio. Approximately 1" piece missing from lower left-hand corner. Upper right-hand corner exhibits multiple creases and small tears as well as a few other scattered, small tears along the edges. Back of photo has hand written notation "Groh" along with scattered foxing and a few scuff marks. Good. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hakes COA.
