Item Description
7-5/8x9-5/8" vintage matte silver gelatin photo mounted to overall dimensions of 10x12.25" on oversize cabinet mount depicting nine ballplayers in full uniform along with a gentleman dressed in formal attire and three younger boys in front of stadium seating with period baseball equipment in the foreground. Photographer's caption on back reads "Harry Richmond Hippler, 5536 Cambridge Street, West Philadelphia, PA". Additional paper caption contains identifications for all individuals pictured. Anchor appears to be a local town or semi-pro team in the Philadelphia area and taking advantage of the availability of the American League's Philadelphia Athletics ballpark availability. Image clarity of the photo is superb with 1.25" piece of tape near left edge, mount displays chipping in places around the edges. Back of mount exhibits indentations in a few spots along with edge wear. Fine. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
